The 2009 Crop year is looking a lot like 2008. Spring planting is behind schedule.
If you’re not done planting corn by June 5, 2009 you may want to call our office and turn in a prevented planting corn claim. You can still plant corn after June 5, 2009, but you will be in the late plant period. If you don’t get your corn planted in the late plant period you can switch to soybeans and your PP claim will go away. This will keep your options available if it stays wet and you don’t get all your acres planted.
